BIO

Manfred Kirchmeyer grew up in the city of Salzburg. He began learning guitar autodidactically at the age of 14; drums and bass guitar as a second instrument. From 1991 to 2004, Kirchmeyer initiated and led around 100 "Rock & Pop Music Workshops" annually, in schools, youth centers, cultural centers (Rockhouse Salzburg), at holiday camps (Brixen/South Tyrol/It - Kassianeum), pedagogical institutes and many others. Manfred Kirchmeyer is co-founder of Rockhouse Salzburg; was part of the founding team between 1990 and 1993 and on the board from 1993 to 2003.

As a singer/songwriter, he played around 3000 gigs (as of 2024) - mostly in hotel bars and pubs, but also concerts, cultural events and shows (Salzburg World Heritage Festival, Mirabell Palace, FIS Women's Nightrace Flachau...). A dialect project, primarily for ORF Salzburg, resulted in a regional No. 1 hit (Winter 2014/15). A musicological lecture was given on the winter country anthem "I steh' auf Schnee" at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, at the symposium "Salzburg's Hymns from 1816 to Today". Since 2024, the original "I steh' auf Schnee" skis have been in the FIS State Ski Museum in Werfenweng / Salzburg.

Kirchmeyer played as part of a street music duo in the television series „Stockinger" (Salzburger Kugeln) as a special and composer (scene with Karl Markovics - lead actor in the Oscar-winning film "The Counterfeiters"). In 2024 he shot the video "The Rockhouse Session" with the Fuzzion Collective (camera / editing: Simon Fraissler - camera for the Oscar-winning documentary "Navalny") Kirchmeyer has worked on numerous music productions as a composer, producer or instrumentalist. He has produced for film, theater and advertising (Stockinger, 33 days, Schauspielhaus Salzburg, Pro Juventute and many others).
